TUTORIAL: CROPPING AND REMOVING BACKGROUNDS
In this tutorial i’m going to show you how to crop images out of their backgrounds or how to remove their background at all.
for every picture there is a suitable way and i’m gonna show you how i’ll do each one.
#1- this is our original image, as you can see it’s pretty clear from the background and the background is almost white so it would be easy so it would be easy for us to use the refine edge tool. i picked my Quick selection tool (W). and selected all over dianna. make sure you have selected your object (dianna or the person in your image) and then right click on the selection and select “refine edge” make sure these are your settings. X
after that you may add whatever background you wish and then add your image and then the coloring.my background is of this pack and this coloring i posted a while ago.
#2- as for t.v shows caps, some of them are pretty clear and some have complex or dark backgrounds, we’ll be talking about these later, i’m using a cap of lady mary from downton abbey X that’s background is also almost white and i’m using the same technique as the one before.i’m using pretty vintage colorings for this one and some textures as well.
#3- this is pretty much the hardest one, complex or dark backgrounds i’m using this cap X of lady morgana. this cap has both a dark and complex background, the refine edge tool will not properly crop it. i prefer to use either the Pen tool (P) or the magnetic lasso tool (L) which is waay easier. but both are fine.of course the pen will be more accurate but you have to zoom in and hurt your eyes. :C (sorry for not adding more in depth details but if you want some of if you have any difficulties please message me, i’ll bring you tea and we’ll discuss it )
#4- as for the last one i was asked to do a tutorial on it, i’m gonna use the technique i used for the first one because my background is comepletely white, as for the circle in the background thing, ome people prefer prefer to crop the circle from the original image, i just draw a circle on my background. and then add the coloring and textures and everything.
